Medical imaging processes

Abstract

Have you ever wondered how an image from the inside of the human body can be shown on a display? During this workshop participants get a short insight in the technics behind the medical imaging processes of X-ray (fluoroscopic images), computer tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and medical ultrasound. We will discuss both, the technics and physics as well as the anatomy behind it.

Description

A whole day long we are going to look on the different imaging processes. During the workshop participants learn both, how the devices work and where the technological frontiers are. Shortly we will also discuss how the digital imaging and image reconstruction works. The afternoon will take place at the Medical center including a practical demonstration of a magnetic resonance imaging system.

Participants are expected to be interested in the topics dealt with even though no special knowledge is necesairy. All interested students from all years are warmly welcomed.

The course is held in German.
